Oskar Adler Seriennummern

Probably 1915, early Tenor. Amazing condition. More pics if you would like any. Being re-padded at the moment....Paul

Re: Oskar Adler Seriennummern
Good evening,
That would make it the oldest known numbered tenor saxophone by O. Adler & Co.— congratulations.
The only instruments older than this are the two at the Deutsches Museum in Munich (soprano and alto; see *Faszination Saxophone*, p. 70).
Best regards from Markneukirchen, the home of Adler
Enrico

Re: Oskar Adler Seriennummern
Thank you Dr. Enrico Weller for your information..(and to Tobi)
I am still awaiting for it to be returned from my tech.
I can then weigh it and test play against a tuner to establish where it is an HP or LP. It is not a c melody...it is 28.90 inches which is too long I understand. I will also measure from centre B to D tone holes for further evidence of HP/LP.
My dilema is what to do with it! I am not a collector. I have no idea of it's value, I can't insure it and in any event, it couldn't be replaced if lost, damaged or stolen. It seems a shame for it to be played occasionally, it deserves to be in a collection where more appreciated or a museum perhaps.
I have asked the Deutsches Museum in Munich if they are interested in adding it to their collection. It would compliment the 2 they already have, being a Tenor.
Would any members on this site be interested or perhaps you can suggest an alternative way of disposal?
Thanks again for your help and comments.
