B&S Blue Label Tenor serial number ?

after one month without additional clarifying photos, I'd like to answer your question about the three tenor saxophones as follows:

All three were made between beginning to mid of the 70's (Option A)
or between mid to end of the 80's (Option B)

the B&S tenor saxophone with SN 4301 was made in 1977.

Yes, it is definitely a "quality instrument" - but which condition is it in detail? Is it fully playable? You might want to try it out prior to purchasing it?

I bought a silver coated blue label tenor saxophone for a present to my wife. Its serial number is 1693. It would be awesome to have any information about the instrument.

Any recommendations for a good match mouthpiece for jazz?

Hello Vesa,

as mentioned several times before, I would need some photos in order to advise the year of construction.

Many mouthpieces should match, Otto Link hard rubber, Meyer hard rubber, but as well Berg Larsen metal and even Lawton metal. You should just testplay it and decide upon your personal sound-feeling.

yes, this is sufficient. The Tenor SN 1693 was built in 1986 (plus minus one year).

This late model was the improvement of the initial "blue label" design. Both designs were supposed to somehow "copy" the Selmer saxophones. Clearly a Quality-Instrument. And it's silver-plated, which I would prefer.
